Dual Diagnosis Services
Dual Diagnosis Unit (32)
Dual Diagnosis Unit (37)
The Dual Diagnosis Unit provides comprehensive care for male and female patients who have diagnoses of both mental illness and mental retardation.  Treatment begins with a comprehensive evaluation of the patients' psychiatric, medical and functional status.  Individualized treatment programming emphasizes behavioral management, educational services for adaptive skill development and a supportive milieu.  The goals of treatment are stabilization of psychiatric symptoms and development of skills necessary to facilitate transfer or discharge to a less restrictive environment.
