CAFETERIA

The employee cafeteria is available Monday through Friday for breakfast ( 7:00 to 9:00 a.m.), lunch (11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.) and dinner (6:30 to 7:30 p.m.).  The cafeteria is also available for C-shift employees from 2:00 to 4:00 a.m. Hours of operations are subject to change.

WORKERS COMPENSATION
Insurance protection provided for employees due to on the job injuries.
CREDIT UNION
The Mississippi Public Employees’ Credit Union offers payroll deducted savings with interest paid, loans and other financial services.  Pay $11 to join of which $1 is a one-time joining fee, and $10 opens a savings account.
DIRECT DEPOSIT
MSH employees have the option of having their paycheck deposited directly to their bank.
MISSISSIPPI DEFERRED COMPENSATION PLAN
A supplemental retirement savings and tax deferred savings plan offered by the Public Employees’ Retirement System.  Contributions are deferred, which reduces taxable income and any interest and/or earnings are also deferred until withdrawal or upon receiving annuity payments.
MPACT
The Mississippi Prepaid Affordable College Tuition program (MPACT) is a State of Mississippi program through which some of the costs associated with higher education (tuition and mandatory fees) may be paid in advance and fixed at a guaranteed level for the duration of the undergraduate enrollment.  The State of Mississippi established the Mississippi Affordable College Savings (MACS) program as a companion to the MPACT program.
MISSISSIPPI PUBLIC EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT SYSTEM
Participation is mandatory for all full-time status employees who work 20 (twenty) or more hours per week.  Employees contribute 9% and the state contributes 12%.  Members are fully vested after eight (8) years of service.  Service retirement benefits are eligible to members if you are age sixty (60) or older with at least eight (8) years of membership service OR if you have at least twenty five (25) years of membership service, regardless of your age.  When applicable, disability retirement benefits are available upon a qualifying event.
SAVINGS BONDS
Series EE savings bonds are offered through payroll deduction.  Bonds may be purchased in increments of $50.00.
SOCIAL SECURITY
Contributions are mandatory with benefits as provided by Federal Law.
VALIC
